Our foundation is our performers. We started as a few musicians in a restaurant, and grew to incorporate poets, comedians, flow artists, magicians, dancers, indie film makers, and more. We made a system that gives Jammers resources that can help their careers long term. We use our tickets and sponsorships to pay for services on your behalf, and we rely on each member of the community doing their part to help each other. The idea is you can get featured in a local publication, branding help, coaching, interviews, photoshoots, mini-documentaries, and more for free or very little cost just from selling tickets and sponsorships for YOUR SHOW.
Why perform at Phat Jam? Good question!
- Exposure to a large crowd
- We pay YOU in resources
- Professional photographs/videos of your performance in front of the crowd
- Free live audio recording
- Endless networking opportunities
- Opportunities to get free and discounted Jam Resources like interviews, publication features, logo design, photoshoots, promotional videos, etc.
- Opens the door to potential future gigs, workshops, promotional opportunities, and future events from Phat Jam
What can I expect?
A good time. Performing artists have a minimum of 5 minutes of stage time (can be slightly more if bands take a while to set up). We can support you with any audiovisual needs using the projector or sound system. Your act name will be displayed on a screen behind y’all. Your application submission goes to a spreadsheet that we use to make our lineup every month, as well as get folks gigs. Since this is a recurring and we get a lot of applications, you may be in a future month if this month isn't available. If you are selected, we will give you additional info like how tier systems work, audiovisual, and load in details.
Help us help you
Phat Jam wouldn’t be able to work without people volunteering, promoting, and supporting their community. The more you help promote, offer your time and expertise, the more we are able to do for artists. We get it. We are organized by musicians, comedians, poets, photographers, vendors, and so much more. We are made by underdogs, for underdogs. Let's Jam!
